I truly believe healing starts with feeling safe, not just emotionally, but physically, and in the connection we build together. For me, psychological safety means you can show up as you are, move at your own pace, and know you’ll be met with curiosity, compassion, and zero judgment. That’s where the real work and growth begin. My approach blends somatic principles with traditional talk therapy, using research-informed methods that connect body awareness with emotional insight. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic principles and Internal Family Systems based principles (IFS) to gently guide you toward deeper self-awareness, insight, and lasting change. When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me teaching yoga, wandering outdoors with my dog, or getting lost in a book that I just can’t put down. I aim to offer a space that feels warm, real, and uniquely yours, a space where healing isn’t rushed and your pace is always honored.

Kristen Paliwoda offers a gentle, grounding presence that helps clients feel understood and supported from the moment they meet her. She works primarily with women navigating life transitions — from the growing pains of early adulthood to the changing identity that often accompanies motherhood.

Kristen believes therapy should feel like a place to exhale — a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can reconnect with their confidence, balance, and sense of self. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and guided by curiosity. She integrates EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness-based practices, creating a process that feels both steady and flexible — never rushed, never one-size-fits-all.

With advanced training in perinatal mental health, Kristen supports women through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and identity change with empathy and respect for each unique story. She also brings several years of experience supporting clients in recovery from motor-vehicle accidents, helping them navigate both emotional and physical healing.

Kristen earned her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Alberta. She is certified in EMDR and holds advanced education in perinatal mental health through the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Certificate program.

Clients describe her as steady, compassionate, and deeply human — someone who listens with care and helps them rediscover a sense of calm and clarity within themselves.

New clients are welcome to book a complimentary consultation with Kristen through Lodestone Psychology’s online portal.
